You will need:

1. Your Ghaf tree seeds
2. Medium-sized plant pot (5 liter) — as many as you need
3. Potting soil
4. Water

Step 1: Fill the pot/s with potting soil, leaving 3-4cm from the top.

Step 2: Moisten the soil to allow the top to be level. Be careful not to overwater the seeds.

Step 3: Use your finger to make 2 holes into the soil, about 1cm deep. The holes should be evenly spaced from each other and the side of the pot to allow the seedlings to grow.

Step 4: Place one seed into each hole (2 seeds/pot) and close the hole. Don’t compact the soil.

Step 5: Place the pot/s outdoors in a warm place with morning sunlight and keep them moist (not too wet). Make sure they do not dry out.

Your seeds should germinate in 7-12 days. Remember to keep them moist every day. Once your tree is about 1.5 years old, it should require less water as it finds its own supply from underground.

Once your seedlings are about 15-20cm tall, you should plant them out into the ground to allow their tap roots to develop and become healthy, strong trees.

Ghaf trees love full sun and thrive in well drained, sandy soils.

Enjoy your wonderful gift from Mother Nature!
