From extreme survival skills courses to mountain cabin stays, edgy team-building experiences to host of exciting activities including abseiling, rock…
Located just an hour’s drive from downtown Ras Al Khaimah, Jebel Jais is the region’s premier destination for adventure lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Soaring almost 2,000 metres above sea level and home to adrenalin-pumping attractions including Jais Flight – the world’s longest zipline – the Bear Grylls Explorers Camp and the Jais Sledder, the UAE’s tallest mountain is a must-visit highlight on every Ras Al Khaimah travel itinerary. So, what is the best way to get there?
Visiting Jebel Jais by taxi is one of the cheapest and easiest options available. RAK Transport Authority’s fleet of modern, efficient, and comfortable sedans and people movers includes options perfectly suited to couples and families, as well as small groups. For female travellers, there is even the option to book a Ladies Taxi. There are two official taxi brands operating in Ras Al Khaimah: Al Hamra Taxis, which operates a fleet of around 600 air-conditioned vehicles, and Arabia Taxi, which is a franchise of RAK Transport Authority and maintains a fleet of 500 cars and people movers. All vehicles are fitted with smart meter systems and cameras operated with AI technologies to ensure occupant safety and comfort, while trips are charged at just AED1.88/kilometre, meaning the drive from Downtown Ras Al Khaimah should cost no more than about AED150, including flag fall. Taxis are plentiful in Ras Al Khaimah – either hail one from the street or ask your concierge to order one to your hotel’s front door. The choice is yours.
