Al Hamra International Exhibition & Convention Center
Al Hamra International Exhibition & Convention Centre is a world-class exhibition facility on the shores of the Arabian Gulf. Certified by Bureau Veritas, the convention centre boasts 2,700 square metres of exhibition space, two VIP majlises, terrace and beach areas. Global Citizen Forum 2022
The Global Citizen Forum took place at Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre on 12 and 13 December 2021. The two-day forum was held in partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority. GCF attracted inspiring activists, philanthropists, current and former country leaders, filmmakers, human rights journalists and tourism specialists. Innovative leaders connected and provided vital dialogue on global citizenship and how to reimagine ‘The Human Metamorphosis’, which successfully ignited many global conversations.
Arab Aviation Summit 2022
The Arab Aviation Summit was one of the first in-person events in the region following the pandemic. The event was held from February 28 to March 2, 2022 at the Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre, supported by global industry partners such as Airbus, CFM, Air Arabia, and Alpha Aviation Academy. The two-day summit brought experts together to discuss the impact of the pandemic on the industry, the aftershocks, the road to recovery and a stronger future. The dialogue was around the theme, ‘Arab Aviation in the New Normal’ and there were numerous workshops discussing various aspects of aviation and tourism.
Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon 2022
The 15th world’s fastest Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon took place on 18 February 2022 on Al Marjan Island in the south of the Emirate. The World Athletics Gold Label race welcomed back elite athletes, running enthusiasts and amateurs from across the globe, to participate in the record-breaking event. RCS Sports and Events successfully organised the event that attracted over 4,000 runners and 45 elite athletes.
World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL)
Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) and the World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL) partnered on 19 January 2022 to create a unique platform for sharing expertise and addressing future challenges in travel, tourism, and hospitality industries. WTFL is a leader that encourages partnerships to shape a more sustainable future. They provide decision-makers with in-depth insights into the core themes of the tourism industry and a unique global network. The Authority was the official sponsor and supported three significant events, which cemented the Emirate’s reputation as a destination for change.
WTFL Think Tank, a high-level two-day event for high profile decision makers in the tourism industry.
WTFL Talent Boost, a platform dedicated to talent and job creation in cooperation with a tourism or hospitality university in Ras AI Khaimah.
WTFL Start-Up Innovation Camp brought together the best new business models in several categories.
Heightened Safety and Support
Offering state-of-the-art and elegantly designed meeting facilities, Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre is the first safe meeting facility in the world, as certified by Bureau Veritas, the international leader in testing and inspection services. This certification follows the implementation of a series of safety and hygiene initiatives since April 2020 by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, offering hospitality and event providers access to global best practice, supportive policies and professional guidance on safety and hygiene. The Emirate was also the first destination globally to offer international guests complimentary return PCR testing.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the destination’s agility in addressing the situation led to a series of recognitions. Ras Al Khaimah was named the Gulf Tourism Capital for both 2020 and 2021 by the Gulf Cooperation Council and set a global benchmark in becoming the first city in the world to secure the Bureau Veritas Safeguard Label and World Travel and Tourism Council’s Safe Travel Stamp.
