Ras Al Khaimah is renowned for its sporty set. The emirate boasts rock climbing in the Jebel Jais Mountains, the world’s longest zipline, incredible cycling challenges, and miles of safe walking and running tracks.
Marjan Island has a glorious 2 km corniche lined with seemingly endless palm trees. Visitors or residents of the island can enjoy a healthy and sociable lifestyle by walking, jogging, running or cycling along the wide tracks. The track is popular during the cooler hours of the morning or evening. Several expat groups regularly meet for a workout.
Famous race route
Ras Al Khaimah has various annual sporting events, including the Ras Al Khaimah Run, the triathlon and the world’s fastest half marathon, which take advantage of the impressive route. The corniche is unique and has the Arabian Gulf on both sides, affording you spectacular views as you take part in your exercise routine.
E-bikes
If you fancy a languid stroll along the shoreline, there are shaded benches all the way along the corniche for you to rest. You can also rent Circ e-scooters that provide eco-friendly, affordable and convenient transportation solutions on Marjan Island. RAK Tourism Development Authority partnered with Circ to provide carbon emission-free transport. The eco-scooters support the ongoing objective to sustainably grow tourism offerings and make it easier for visitors to experience the emirate’s diversity.
Cafés and coffee
For those that are peckish, you can stop at one of the tasty eateries. There is something for everyone’s palate and pocket. Puro Cafe & Terrace has healthy breakfasts, Italian and Mediterranean light bites, fresh juices, and delicious coffee. SALT is a food truck that serves wagyu sliders, cheesy fries, crispy chicken and cold drinks. Crepe de Paris is a wooden café perfect for the crepaholics of the world. Each of the hotels has cafés, bars and restaurants for guests and visitors.
