The peaceful emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is where glamorous beach life meets rugged adventure, whether in the surrounding desert, famed mountains nearby, or the glittering Arabian Gulf. Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort boasts one of the destination’s most enviable settings, a private peninsula of golden sands that overlooks protected mangroves and the open ocean. Here, guests may simply bask in sunshine and the embrace of nature, or dive into a world of water sports, spa healing and culinary exploration. It is the perfect setting for both family getaways and romance, with each memorable moment framed by the thoughtful, intuitive service of Anantara.

ACCOMMODATION

Anantara Mina Al Arab features 174 luxury rooms, suites and villas that have been designed in harmony with nature. They blend into the landscape, each with soothing views, a private balcony, garden terrace or pool deck. Starting from 47 sqm all the way up to 365 sqm, they are spacious and imbued with the authentic luxury for which Anantara is known, as well as indigenous elements that add a sense of place.

The pool villas are inspired by the luxurious living of the Maldives, including Ras Al Khaimah’s first overwater villas. They range from one-bedroom romantic hideaways, with tranquil days spent floating in the pool and dining under the stars, to the sprawling royal villa with breathtaking views of the horizon. Each boasts every luxury imaginable, and the attentive service of a Villa Host to perfect the experience.

DINING

With six restaurants and bars at the resort, as well as in-room dining and Anantara’s signature private dining concept, each day is one of endless gastronomic discovery and pleasure.

Mekong pays homage to Anantara’s Asian roots and presents iconic dishes from Thailand, Vietnam and China. And while remaining true to traditional cooking techniques, these have been reinterpreted for the modern palate, the result an exotic medley of flavours that intrigues and delights. The setting is the perfect reflection of Asia’s greatest waterway, overlooking the magnificent mangroves and the ocean beyond.

Another signature Anantara concept, the Mediterranean Beach House, provides for all-day relaxation with a breezy terrace that overlooks the ocean. Guests are served delicacies from the ocean and grill, as well as cocktails crafted by the mixologist. As sun sets, the air cools, and the desert stars come out, chic evenings are filled with DJ beats and shisha.

LEISURE

The resort’s world-class facilities include a pool, gym, yoga pavilion, kids’ and teens’ clubs, and a padel court. Surrounded by water on three sides, the opportunities for ocean adventures are endless, from tranquil kayaking amidst the mangroves, to a luxury yacht voyage in search of dolphins.

Beyond the resort, adventure awaits, whether traversing the desert on Arabian horseback, hiking up Jebel Jais, part of the majestic Hajar mountain range that stretches all the way to Oman, or taking the flight of a lifetime on the world’s longest zipline. Authentic experiences of the destination include setting sail in search of pearls with the last in a line of native pearl divers, learning the secrets of the ocean’s depths.

Relaxation afterwards comes in the form of restorative healing at Anantara Spa, its own oasis of healing. Here, guests are invited to escape from the everyday worries of the world, with indigenous-inspired and traditional Thai rituals presented along with the brand’s award-winning signature treatments.

THE MANGROVES

As part of Anantara’s commitment to preserve the world’s most beautiful settings for the next generation, Anantara Mina Al Arab serves as protector of the peninsula’s surrounding mangroves, home to indigenous wildlife such as turtles, flamingos and dugongs. Families may enjoy educational and fun conservation activities at the discovery centre, or experience the mangroves in all their beauty by kayaking through them, all the while learning of their importance in protecting the coastline, sheltering juvenile marine life, and serving as a rich resource for local communities.
