Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah is the highest mountain in the UAE. It is part of the spectacular, cloud-piercing Al Hajar mountain range, which straddles two countries, extending from Ras Al Khaimah on the eastern side of the United Arab Emirates to the Musandam Peninsula in the northern part of Oman. Measuring 100 kilometers wide and 700 kilometers long, Al Hajar is the highest mountain range in the region.
