The UAE virtual work residence visa is a one-year residence visa designed for working remotely in the UAE while employed by a company or an entity located outside the UAE. It enables digital nomads to live legally anywhere in the UAE, including Ras Al Khaimah.

  • Identity receipt
  • Colored photo:ย  Size 6โ€ x 4โ€; must be recent with a white backgroundย 
  • Passport copy: Must be valid for at least six months at the time of your application
  • Medical fitness test result: Proof youโ€™re medically fit
  • Health insurance copy: Proof you have medical insurance coverage for the duration of the visa
  • Virtual work proof outside-UAE: Proof that youโ€™re remotely working for an entity located outside the UAE
  • Salary certificate: Proof to verify youโ€™re making the minimum monthly income of $3,500 that the visa requires

Once you have your documents ready, submit these requirements to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) through:

  • The ICP Smart Services website (24/7 availability)
  • The UAEICP mobile application (24/7 availability)
  • A customer happiness center (available during working hours)
  • An ICP-accredited typing center (available during working hours)

The application process comprises five steps, as follows:

  1. Fill out the application form with the required information.
  2. Attach the required documents.
  3. Pay the service fees.
  4. Review the service rate and expected processing time.
  5. Receive your confirmation and corresponding visa documents by email.
