It’s summer, and the heat is on. What do you do in 32-degree weather? Stay indoors, probably. However, summer can be fun even though you need to stay out of the sun.

Here’s our tip. Relegate outdoor activities to early mornings and early evenings. During the day, enjoy the indoor activities Ras Al Khaimah has to offer.

You can visit the Al Sawan camel race track to catch a camel race at daybreak. In the late afternoon, go on a desert safari to a Ras Al Khaimah desert camp. Watch the sun as it sets over the sand dunes, dine on authentic Bedouin fare, and dance to the beat of traditional desert tribal music as you sit captivated by the magic of countless twinkling stars underneath the clear night sky.

In the daytime, when the heat precludes the possibility of going out, try the following indoor places to visit in Ras Al Khaimah.

1. Flipped

Flipped

If you’re in the mood to jump, bounce, and smash, go to Flipped in Manar Mall, a high-energy, 21,000-square-foot trampoline park for all ages.

It offers a wealth of indoor activities for kids. Your children can dive into the gigantic ball pit, perform acrobatic stunts in the safety of the foam pit, or hop, leap, and skip on any of the trampolines. Younger children can also have fun with the soft and interactive toys in the dedicated toddler play area.

How about you, the adult? While the children are busy, visit the smash room. Vent and release stress as you shatter breakable items.

2. Fly Zone

fly zone

Al Qawasim Corniche has excellent dining options. To pass the time while waiting for the cafés and restaurants to open, visit the integrated trampoline park, Fly Zone.

Fly Zone’s range of kids’ indoor activities includes a ball pit, a foam pit, and multiple trampolines. There are also many other areas and equipment to round out any list of fun summer activities for kids.

Those who are feeling more adventurous can get on the airbag jump, challenge themselves on the rotating beam, or complete the ninja course. They can play an interactive trampoline game on the Valo Jump or interact with the IWall. Others can play a round of dodgeball or basketball, while the young ones can play as much as they want in the kiddie playground.

3. Vox Cinemas

While out shopping and chilling at Al Hamra Mall, catch a movie at Vox Cinemas. Vox is not your ordinary movie theatre.

Watching a movie at a Vox cinema is an experience. MAX by Vox offers top-of-the-line Dolby Atmos surround sound, an over-20-meter-wide screen that fully draws you in, and plush seats with a side table, armrest and exceptional legroom. GOLD by Vox, meanwhile, offers reclining seats and in-cinema dining.

4. Tridom

Tridom is the largest indoor entertainment complex in Ras Al Khaimah. It’s a full-scale amusement park in Manar Mall, offering a host of summer activities in the UAE for kids and kids at heart.

The place includes big rides like the Air Racer, Super Spin, and Drop ‘N Twist. Indoor activities for kids include Crazy Gliders, Hello Kitty Fun House, and carousels. If they’ve had enough of the rides, your children can go to the multi-level soft play area to climb, wade, crawl, and slide. The rest of your time at Tridom, you and your children can spend hurling balls at the interactive wall, playing video games, and trying classic arcade games.

5. Indoor Swimming Pools

Nothing counters the heat of summer like water. Fortunately, you can swim indoors when the sun is out. Here are three places with an indoor swimming pool in Ras Al Khaimah.

  • DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island: You can enjoy the beach and other outdoor summer activities before the sun breaks through the horizon. When it becomes too hot outside, cool down in the hotel’s indoor pool.
  • The Ritz-Carlton Al Wadi Desert: This Ritz-Carlton property in Al Wadi Nature Reserve offers opportunities to connect with nature and serves as a good jumping point for a desert safari.
