Kaheela is open for breakfast and lunch and has a rich array of dishes from around the world. Healthy salads, local flavours from the Middle East and spicy tangs from India. Chefs serve a tempting breakfast buffet with favourites from around the globe and a delicious buffet and a la carte menu for lunch. There is a comprehensive vegetarian and vegan menu with many vegetables and herbs grown freshly in the garden.
The name Kaheela is inspired by the Arabic word for kohl, or kuhl, a dark powder used on the upper eyelids to enhance the beauty of a woman’s eyes. Cleopatra, the pharaohs, noblewomen and the nomadic Touareg from the Sahara and Bedouins from the Middle East all wore kohl. Kaheela is a beautifully welcoming space with cuisines from all over the world. It’s a nod to feminity, the warmth of a loving home, and the celebration of family gatherings.
The extensive menu features delicious hot and cold starters from the Middle East, including the cold mezze sharing platter with moutabel, muhammara, hummus, fattoush, cheese rukakat and spinach fatayer. Many of the restaurant’s dishes contain salads and vegetables from the kitchen garden, such as the Kahleela signature salad with crispy cucumber, sun-sweet tomatoes, avocado, apple, walnuts, mixed greens, citrus segments and a zingy dressing. Main courses include favourite tandoori, pizza, pasta, Arabic and international dishes. The resort’s resident sommelier will help you pair wine and soft drinks to complement the dishes.
